Chateau Lascombes

Classified second growth in 1855, the Château Lascombes vineyard stretches over 112 hectares within the Margaux appellation and 6 hectares of Haut-Médoc.
The vines, which have an average age of thirty five years, are pruned in double-Guyot. Present varietal distribution is 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit-Verdot with vine stocks 101-14, Riparia and 3309 C.

The grape harvest is exclusively hand-picked by some hundred people teaming within the vineyard but not before the grapes have been tasted and analysed. The harvesters store the bunches in small, ten-kilo crates which preserve their integrity.
