Premieres cotes de Bordeaux


Appellation Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux is reserved for white still wines, located South East ( Green ) within the Bordeaux wine region as seen in our Bordeaux wine glass. 
 

The geographical area of the appellation Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux is on the right bank of the Garonne, stretching over an area of sixty kilometers which combines flat land, hillsides and slopes located on the east and southeast of the Bordeaux region.

The vineyards of the Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux is operated by approximately 60 producers  totalling 190 hectares of vines which produce 7,000 hectoliters of white wine with sugar residual.  
The conditions of production are low yields, this favours a good maturity period and the over maturation linked to the development of Botrytis cinerea as to permit noble rot. 

 To comply with regulations, the vines have a minimum planting density of 4,500 vines per hectare.  These white still wines are from the grape varieties Semillon, sauvignon, sauvignon gris and muscadelle.

The wines shine with golden yellow hues, are fresh, flowery and have an equal elegant balance of acidity.  Wines that can be enjoyed young or up to 5 or 6 years. 

The wine has a minimum alcoholic strength of 11.5% by volume and a ferment-able sugar content (glucose and fructose) greater than or equal to 34 grams per liter.

Wines are aged at least until the 15th January of the year following the year of harvest,  after the rearing period wines are marketed to consumers from the 31st January of the year following the year of harvest.

The grape harvest, wine making and development also ageing of wines are guaranteed in the territory of the following communes in the Gironde department:

Bassens, Baurech, Beguey Bouliac, Cadillac, Cambes, Camblanes et Meynac, Capian, Carbon Blanc, Cardan, Carignan de Bordeaux, Cénac, Cenon, Donzac, Floirac, Gabarnac, Haux, Langoiran, Laroque Latresne, Lestiac sur Garonne, Lormont, Loupiac, Monprimblanc, Omet, Paillet, Quinsac, Rions, Saint aprais de Bordeaux, Saint Germain de Grave, Saint Maixant, Sainte Croix du Mont, Sainte Eulalie, Semens, Tabanac,  Verdelais, Villenave de Rions and Yvrac.
