Saint Croix du Mont


Appellation Sainte Croix du Mont is reserved for white still wines, located South East ( Green ) within the Bordeaux wine region as seen in our Bordeaux wine glass. 

The geographical area of ​​the appellation Sainte-Croix-du-Mont is located in the Gironde department and is limited to the municipality of Sainte Croix du Mont, situated on the right bank of the Garonne and upstream approximately 45 kilometers Southeast of Bordeaux. 

Fifty wine producers cover around 370 hectares in the Saint Croix Du Mont appellation with an average production of 12,000 hectoliters a year.   This number can vary significantly from one vintage to another as wet climate periods and weather depressions from the Atlantic can compromise the concentration or botrytis grapes which is required for this production.

To comply to regulations the vines have a minimum planting density of 5,000 vines per hectare. The grape harvest also has to be carried out exclusively by hand. 

The wines are golden amber in colour, are filled with all the aromas of white fruits and flowers and citrus candy providing a balanced yet delicate sweetness.

The grape harvest, wine making and development also ageing of the wines are guaranteed in the territory of the municipality of Sainte Croix du Mont. wines are aged at least until the 15th January of the year following the year of harvest then marketed to the consumer from the 31st January of the year following the year of harvest.
